Baltic Countries to Repatriate Stranded Citizens in the Persian Gulf

Latvia said priority will be given to vulnerable people and families with young children.
On Wednesday, the Estonian Foreign Ministry announced it will organize the first Baltic repatriation flight from Oman for 180 citizens stranded in the United Arab Emirates and other Persian Gulf countries.

Passengers will be responsible for their own transportation to the airport and will pay €400 per person, while the Estonian government will cover additional expenses, thus ensuring the safe return of its nationals.
Meanwhile, Latvia reported it is preparing instructions for its national airline, airBaltic, to organize evacuation flights for some 2,000 citizens stranded in the United Arab Emirates. However, it did not specify departure dates.
The Latvian Foreign Ministry indicated that priority will be given to vulnerable people, such as families with young children. The official statement highlighted that Latvians in Israel can travel overland to Egypt via the Taba border crossing, where there is an airport with flights to European destinations.
It was also reported that travel from Israel to Jordan is possible via the Aqaba border crossing, with flights scheduled to Athens starting Thursday, and that cruises will be available from Cyprus.
The Lithuanian government announced that it will organize a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Vilnius in the “near future” for vulnerable citizens, including families with children, pregnant women, the sick, the disabled, and the elderly.
This Lithuanian flight will also cover repatriations from other Gulf countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing assistance to its citizens in vulnerable situations.
